With origins in Southern Asia, the Axis Deer has come to inhabit many countries across the world. Their populations in South Texas have prospered, especially, having acclimated easily to our hot Summers and normally mild Winters.

Easily identifiable by their distinctive spots, their numbers are estimated to be around 6,000 in the wild in Texas. Possibly an even more renowned trait of the Axis Deer is the quality of their meat that is guaranteed to make a fan out of anyone.
